@alexkozliayev9902 Yale School of Management put out a paper regarding that. Russia depleted their foreign currency reserves pretty heavily. Loans to small businesses took a nosedive. Many production sectors collapsed. Tracking of retail purchases shows consumers are tightening their belts. Goods and services dependent on imports suffered 40-60% inflation. Superficially, Russia is holding fine but the rot goes pretty deep.

@enotsnavdier6867 The Iraq war didn't kill a million. The civilian casualties produced due to the war were about 8,000. You're padding the statistics with the sectarian violence and terrorism that happened when the Ba'ath party decided to be sore losers and sow division among the Iraqi people. The US shouldn't be blamed for Iraqis killing Iraqis, and foreign fighters coming over to Iraq to kill people.

@alexkozliayev9902 Gas and oil money? They're selling at a 35% discount to China. There's infrastructure that needs to be built to replace the European market. Several Western companies that contributed to resource extraction have left Russia, and the machinery used by Russian companies will eventually need parts that are dependent on global trade.

@alexkozliayev9902 Not "years". You can skip maintenance for a few weeks. But after months, the machines start to break down if you keep using them without maintenance.

@alexkozliayev9902 Months passed already, and several Russian industries have stalled. Yes, we'll keep supplying ourselves with the gas we critically need, while the rest of the industries we don't need will have to beg for scraps.

@l3ddy I don't have to cope with anything, I'm not under sanctions and I don't depend on Russian gas. Those people, they will have to cope.
