Comments by "Titanium Rain" (@ChucksSEADnDEAD) on "Jim Carrey's 'Cold Dead Hand' Song Pisses Off Fox News Gun Nuts" video.
I mean, was there anything really funny in his video? I have a pretty trashy taste in comedy, I'll laugh to anything that can be considered funnier than The Big Bang Theory. But the process of something being funny is related to your brain making connections, such in the case of satire, in which some truth is used. The link between reality has to exist. All I've seen was dumb shit happening on screen, apparently Heston is a murderer and the song actually rhymed. Not much else.

Hitler was voted as a representative of the people in a legit democratic election. When a government is elected you don't vote every day until they are kicked out. Also, implying smart people are voting on those hacks that keep winning the elections.

>defending the 'right' of a nut bar You got it wrong. I don't know any pro gun person that wants crazy people to have weapons. >tools of war I'm sorry, I missed the part where you could buy an AC-130 Spectre and truckloads of RPGs over the counter. Rifles, shotguns and handguns were used by civilians before they were adopted as military weapons. The military, when it comes to firearms, uses civilian grade material, occasionally with full auto added.

There's nothing that defends freedom of speech like complaining. It's part of being free. It's the reason freedom of speech is a thing, so that you have a voice to complain. Maybe when Fox News starts calling on sewing lips shut you can say they are restricting the First Amendment, but until then don't talk about what you don't understand. Sorry to burst your bubble but news networks are all owned by the same people and all the other networks are as much of hypocrites as Fox News.

>some people do it to feed their family Those should steal food. Not sell drugs and murder people. >Barrett M50 No such thing. Barrett doesn't make any M50. >TV makes kids do bad things, it's possible Influence? Sometimes. Cause? No. >Scope+FyrPower= sniper rifle Many sniper's rifles use .308, which is a regular power rifle round. The Mk12 SPR even uses 5.56, which is one of the weakest rifle rounds. And firepower is more related to volume of fire and fire superiority. Not actual power.

I hate ignorance as much as I hate those who want to deny others their constitutional rights. People have a right to be religious and to worship whatever they want.

>Very relevant point you made there. Not. Just claiming that it wasn't doesn't make you right. I explained my point and it' stands strong as it's a perfect analogy. The internet has been used for many evils yet I did not support PIPA/SOPA/CISPA whatever. The internet did not exist when the First Amendment was written, but back then Europe had repeating rifles since the 1680s, the first machine gun was created in 1718 and in 1777 the first rapid fire musket design emerged.

>It is about taking the NRA's own political speech and stuffing it back down their throats And calling dead people murderers and take advantage of the recent killings to give a boost to your career. So classy and funny,

You don't understand. I can't drive over the speed limit, yet we don't punish those who have cars who can go over the speed limit. You can't punch people to death, yet your tendons aren't cut at birth to prevent you from making a fist. No law against crime has ever punished the general populace. Is your day hindered because you can't sell drugs? Because you can't run over people on your way to work? How are those laws punishing you right now?
1
>they are obviously Putting "obviously" in front of a statement doesn't make you right, Dr Carl Lightman of the internet that knows what other people are feeling. >being ignorant puts you on the evil side If this is about the media then it's all evil. The networks are all owned by the same restrict circle of people. Crying about Fox News is useless.

>the pleasures of the many So surviving an attack where the police takes 20 min to arrive is a pleasure? >I promise you will see a line of people in Walmart to spank the child lashing out in isle 3. Cause all it takes is a good whoopin for a kid to learn to fall in line. Do you know why the murder rate dropped in the last decades? Because the Baby Boomers got too old to be criminals. They got spanked a whole lot more than today's criminals. If rights are taken away they never return, BTW.

>Need large magazine machine guns? Machine guns were banned in 1986. Large capacity magazines are often either unreliable or too heavy/bulky. The standard capacity is much better. >i think your safe The USSR also spent a lot on defense. Their people weren't safe against their own government.

>You cannot own tanks and rocket propelled grenade launchers Yes you can. Registered with the ATF. Ever watched FPSRussia? He's an American guy from the state of Georgia with a fetish for ATF paperwork. You can own tanks and RPGs.
1
I'm sorry, but are you American? Owning a firearm is a constitutional right. It's a mean of self-preservation, self-reliance and self-protection. Not a pleasure. That happens in other countries where they are to be kept in ranges. Evidence? You want me to prove that people in retiring age are not murdering people? Search "crime rate drop baby boomers" for more info. >And the rights never returned is a very vague statement. Name one instance where it happened without some kind of intervention.
1
You're missing the point. Laws against murder, drinking and driving, etc exist to PUNISH those who do it and are caught. Those laws don't punish those who are about to do it, those who don't do it, and those who aren't caught. Laws aren't preventions. Creating laws to prevent gun crime won't work, because they will only punish those who already did it. But the problem is that law abiding citizens are also punished.

>against a line of submarines 60 miles off shore Why would they fight against submarines? They're on water. >nuclear missiles Why would a tyrant want a country with no people to rule and poisoned by fallout? Only like 25% of the Marines would take part on going against gun owners, and let's not even mention that Oathkeepers around the country would probably shoot that minority before they left the base. The point of an armed populace is that nobody with a brain wants to fight them.

He takes everyone to a pawn shop and sells them? Is this on the upcoming episode of Pawn Stars?

Outwit? Jim Carrey is so irrelevant today that he needed to stir up shit to have anyone talk about him. In my opinion people can do whatever they want for comedy, but mocking a dead person, using recent tragedies as a leg to stand on and continuing his childish act on Twitter isn't something I'd expect from someone who's over 50. Why would anyone watch news agencies, you mean. Fox isn't even the worst of the bunch, they all lie for profit.
1
>We should lose our gun rights Oh, boy, here we go. You're making the same argument as the pro-gun people. Personal accountability, real parenting, etc. Maybe it wouldn't be such a leap to stop thinking guns are the scape goat. By court cases alone nearly a million people use a gun to save themselves every year. In the vast majority of those instances the situation is defused and no shot is fired. If that isn't being an adult, then I don't know what is.

You couldn't be more of a smug prick, could you?

It's the average host of any network. They don't have to be professional because they are a "panel". Pretty much every network uses "panels" to get away with saying things they can't during actual news.
1
The Founding Fathers didn't even imagine the internet. Will you give away your freedom of speech, since you were never intended to enjoy it online?
1
How about the realistic display of gunfire in Kickass? He is on 2. If he opposes guns so much maybe he shouldn't have taken the contract to the sequel of a movie that didn't have the cartoonish "BANG!" signs on revolvers and rockets.
1
>Carrey as an American citizen is doing the same So you're comparing being productive with being an ass. I'll be the first to defend his rights, as the rights of the people who are complaining. >The only killings he talked about is the cold dead hand and trigger finger of those of the NRA is in support of. Yes, because the NRA is actively interested in getting flak for people getting killed. How about the ATF giving guns to cartels? No "satire" for them?
1
>You said HITLER was elected. He was the leader of the ruling party. I'm sorry but that's the way it works in my country and I'm sort of used to saying it this way. >Hence, the reason smart people see the ballot box as a chance to change, and not guns in some basement. The smart people are: 1. voting on other people on a to weaken the mains parties or 2. voting for people who benefit their business
1
So the NSDAP didn't win with 43.91% of the votes in federal election of March, 1933? I'm not talking about the position of Chancellor, I was talking about the ruling party. >If people were really so fucking paranoid on that point, they would vote differently "I'll tell everyone I'm a bad egg before the elections" - said no dictator, ever. Still, governments have been brought down by force and military juntas instated in several countries. It happens.

>shoot a rifle with a scope? No. Shooting is only part of the sniper school. They are not brain dead trigger fingers, they're experienced in maths, survival, all kinds of things. >as the scope is to provide accuracy No. Accuracy comes from the shooter. Precision comes from the rifle. A scope is just the middle man. >it has been modified Jebus, you just attach it to a rail/mount. >what do you call a scoped rifle A rifle. Machine guns, assault rifles, SMGs all can be fitted with scopes.
1
>50. Caliber sounds like a round .50 inches, as in 12.7mm. 50.0" is 127mm. That's not a bullet, that's a Howitzer. >being modified as in putting on a scope..makes it a SR It's not a modification. It does not alter the mechanical function of the weapon in any way. Putting a scope on a rifle doesn't make it a sniper's weapon. The sniper system depends on many things, specially the shooter. There is no such thing as a sniper rifle.

>gun violence on TV doesn't really ruin anyone's life Of course not. It just influences poor kids that being a gansgta is a good way to get money and bitches. I'm being Devil's Advocate because I believe TV should air whatever they want. I don't think they are the cause, I think they're just not helping. >automatic rifles Banned since 1986. >sniper rifles Basically any rifle with a scope. Sniper rifles don't exist, they are part of the sniper system. Without a sniper, it's just a rifle.
1
He was alone. Besides, he survived a fuckload of time against a country with a 700 billion dollar defense and high tech drones. It just proves how the good old fashioned tactics of evasion work against the big brother. Now try to pull off a Chris Dorner on 100 million gun owners, all at the same time, when roughly only a quarter of the armed forces will fire on civilians.

I don't think that's the point. I'm not going to watch Kickass 2 if Carrey objects to guns until he gets to profit off them. I mean, the first Kickass did have it's fair share of guns, it's not like he didn't have a previous warning. Combine that with mocking someone who was more of a man than Jim, is already dead, whose movies are more relevant than Carrey's carrer and then acting like a bitch on Twitter. Free country means everyone can whine all they want at his "comedy".

Ruining the country? They are the 10th biggest lobby. You have the pharmaceutical lobbies that make medical care expensive, that make the government protect their "right" to charge 10x what the same pills cost in other countries. I think that the thousands and thousands that suffer from unfair business practices in the medical field are a bigger issue than a sportsmen association that decided to defend a constitutional right.
