  1. No amount of buried reasons would justify a chain of subcontractors ending up with a person driving hundreds of miles to move a computer from one room to another. By involving so many companies the opportunity to steal secrets actually increased.

  3. I mean, most fraud would be just elderly people dying and the family keeping it a secret. There's ways of detecting the fraud such as having a QR code on the check and requiring photo ID to make the deposit, even locking the check to the account of the recipient. It would discourage serial killers, not the "my grandma is sick at home" relatives who could deposit in her account and use her debit cards.

  4. Money being accepted as a token of exchange doesn't mean it's not propped up. Even if we assume the state will always be able to back fiat currency, the value of the currency is propped up by economic activity. See the ruble, since early 2022 its value pretty much halved as a result of sanctions.
