  1.  @JK-pi6ji  in the old days people learned those things without formal academia, most of the population probably needs tutoring to understand the concepts and reading at the library isn't enough... but academia isn't entirely necessary to learn, it's only necessary to put it on a resume so you can tell an employer that you've learned
