@abandonedchannel281 That doesn't negate anything of what he said. The poor don't have access to capitalism because they are shut down if they try to enter the economy. Your deflection towards austrian economics speaks volumes about your unwillingness to remain intellectually honest on the debate.

@cherokeecharlie4016 Socialism is literally the system you get when the vanguard party takes over the state, while Communism is what you get when there's a transition to a stateless society. By definition, Socialism is dependent on the state imposing it's economic will on the country.

@itzenormous "The idea that the poor have any access to capital, or ever did" - Okay, the poor never had access to capital. Explain how people built businesses from the ground up by themselves. "so they don't wake up and rebel" - Since you're awake, when was the last time you rebelled? "the so-called 'Little Guy' can transform himself into a wealthy business tycoon" - Nice strawman. Apparently going from poverty to comfortable middle class is the same as becoming a Rockefeller.

@Doppe1ganger "the big guy stomps on the little guy because there are no regulations" - then... why do they lobby for regulations that stomp the little guy? Why are they afraid of free markets if they'd be able to leverage them?

That, but unironically.

@mirsad96 Does that mean "American neoliberalism" or actual neoliberalism? Because most countries in the world are extremely Keynesian. "Neoliberal policies" is usually used to refer to free trade agreements, tax cuts, privatizations, etc but all of that is meaningless when businesses are regulated to protect monopolies, free trade agreements inherently leave countries out meaning that the trade isn't free and the tax cuts are not paired with a responsible "hands off" approach. The government can't be handing out tax cuts and then give massive bailouts because that's not neoliberalism. Hmmm "liber" means "free", so definitely we should spend tax payer dollars to protect the stock market. That's what freedom is all about, government safety nets. ""Free" trade competition and deregulation leads to market monopoly" - Can't protect a monopoly in a free market. "that monopoly centralizes wealth and power" - Wealth isn't a zero sum game, it is created by economic activity. And on a free market you can't just buy power. "grows a huge corporate run state" - A corporate run rate is exactly the opposite of a free market. There would be no reason for corporations to take over the government if the government can't be abused. Amazing how you people always end up admitting that the end goal of corporate control is taking over the government. It's almost like you are ready to admit government is the root of the problem.

@anthonytwohill9726 Communism isn't perverted socialism. Communism is the stateless, classless Utopian society. Socialism is when the communists take over the state and use the state to transition towards communism. That's why the USSR was the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and was ruled by Communist Parties. If anything, Socialism is the perversion of Communism because so far, no Socialist country every transitioned to Communism and instead abused its power.

@Doppe1ganger "Because they can" - That's not an explanation. "pure free market capitalism allows the big guy to unfairly stomp on the little guy" - Our current situation allows that. "It allows for politics to be bribed" - No, that's our current situation. In a free market economy there's no politicians to bribe because the market is free from political interference. Bribing politicians wouldn't do anything. "What do you mean "why do it?" Stupid question." - No, it's not stupid because it's a logical hole in your theory.

@Doppe1ganger Your entire argument is that free markets punish the little guy. But we see monopolies punishing the little guy with regulation. If what you said was true, the monopolies would open the market. But they restrict competition. So you're lying. "What do you mean "our curent situation allows that"" - Our current situation crushes competition and politicians are bribed. Are you denying this? "Why would there not be politicians in a free market economy?" - No politicians controlling the markets. Please learn to read. "If it's beneficial for the big dog to create a political system to enact policies for them, why would free market economics not do that?" - Because then the market isn't free. Duh? "A perfect slave. " - lol
