Patriots could stop Pershing II warheads in the 90s.

That's the warhead. Seems the outside casing was destroyed on impact, so the warhead buried itself in the grass.

@hoangdangphuc2009 Usually the main explosive charge is insensitive and requires a primary explosive to set it off. If the warhead went down without being armed, the explosive filler was not initiated.
1
@hoangdangphuc2009 Insensitive munitions are a thing. A hole will not detonate explosives, but a pencil sized detonator can.
1
@iforgiveyou274 Same warhead shape as the crashed Khinzal from last year.
1
One is nosecone, other is warhead. Look at pictures of the crashed Khinzal from last year. It has a warhead inside, looks exactly like this.
1
@perryblanco1446 The missile was destroyed, this is just a warhead.
1
@slavak9123 It's built the exact same. Look at the pictures of the Khinzal which crashed in Russia last year. It has a suppository looking warhead. Same as this. It's inside the missile casing.
1
@perryblanco1446 It's not moss, it fell of grass which got ripped and embedded. Like clothing fibers in a hollow point bullet.
1
They later confirmed it. Probably they denied it because it was supposed to be a secret but the US confirmed it.
1
Klitschko filmed the warhead.
1
@Withnail1969 It's obviously a Khinzal. Please look at the pictures of the crashed Khinzal from last year. Even American cruise missiles have this style of construction, a warhead inside the body of the missile that looks more like a naval shell.
1
@carter2008 Look at the picture from last year where a Khinzal crashed in Russian territory. The warhead inside looks like a bunker buster bomb. You think you understand, but you don't. Just lookat the pictures of the Khinzal's INTERNAL parts, not the external shell.
1
@Withnail1969 It's a Khinzal. Look at the warhead inside the Khinzal crash wreckage found last year. The thick steel is the penetrator of the warhead, plenty of missiles both Russian and Western use that construction.
1
@djinghiskhan9199 Anyone with eyes can see that the Khinzal which crashed last year has a warhead that looks exactly like the one Klitscko handled. It even has the same eyelets.
1
The warhead is the same as the one on the Khinzal that crashed last year.
1
In the 90s the Patriot could defeat Pershing II warheads, which were hypersonic.
1
@carter2008 Look at the Khinzal crash Sept 2022. You'll see the same concrete piercing warhead.
1
The warhead is exactly like the one that crashed in Russia last year. You are comparing nosecone to warhead. But the picture of the crashed Khinzal proves the warhead inside has that shape.
1
The "pipe" is what's inside Khinzals. Proven by the crash last year.
1
Same as the picture of the crashed Khinzal last year. It crashed in Russian territory so we know Ukrainians didn't fake it.
1
@perryblanco1446 It's the casing for the unitary warhead. The rest of the missile did not survive, got torn to pieces. This survived with a crack near the nose.
1
This is the casing of the unitary warhead. A Khinzal crashed in Russia last year and it also had one of these slip out of the nosecone when it impacted.
1
US confirmed it.
