@timothychung4811 Think. All those millions of engineers, and it took them two decades to develop a jet engine. Pushing people through college doesn't magically give you solutions. You have a bunch of people with degrees.

 @JAnx01 Nobody has fully functioning fleets of any fighter. All aircraft need to have maintenance.

@Wishalloy They didn't. The Phantom scored kills with missile, only a handful were by gun.

@Wishalloy Not true. They were not screwed. They were just ambushed. MiGs would do high speed passes and run away, too fast to be chased and gunned down. The E variant got a gun, but later variants did not have them.
