@rajaydon1893 they use Ka-52s because the Vikhr missile outranges MANPADS by a few miles. This is a problem because we have MANPADS and missile defenses like the Patriot, but not something like the Buk. Which is why they're trying to mate the RIM-7 Sea Sparrow to Ukrainian Buks.

@jaythomas3224 There's footage of HIMARS from this week and the last. You haven't heard because you only check out Russian sources. But the videos are out.
5
The jet fuel maneuver wasn't working. The drone ended up going down because the attempt to dump fuel resulted in collision.
3
@DennisMerwood-xk8wp did you see the picture of the S-400 command vehicle struck by HIMARS? Bloody handprint on the door. The 100,000 tungsten BBs did a number on the crew inside.
3
Lmao can we see them? They also claimed to have donated 200 T-90s to the DPR/LPR.
2
We're not planning on conscripting them like Russia.
2
If you have a modern-ish console try using the gamepad and a joystick off local classifieds people put up for 5/10 dollars. I have a PS4 controller I connect through USB and use as my "throttle".
2
Crazy, but not skilled. He fumbled the maneuver and impacted.
2
There's 170 F-22s in flying condition. There's 14 Su-57s and half are prototypes.
2
The F-15EX is decades ahead of the Su-57.
2
@deemen7132 Russian cargo ships also turn their transponders off. Is that black ops?
2
Half the missiles fired at Ukrainian airfields missed, check the satellite photos.
1
The MiG-31 is a better launch platform. Better speed and better radar. The R-37M performance would be wasted on a Felon. Like shooting a Phoenix missile from a Fokker triplane instead of a F-14.
1
The Su-57 is a prototype, end of discussion.
1
@DennisMerwood-xk8wp Russians bragged about killing Bradleys before they were in Ukraine.
1
@themuckler8176 They desperately need it. A stealth aircraft would grant them.air superiority.
1
@julienckjm7430 Those were MiG-31s which have a much more powerful radar.
1
@julienckjm7430 Not sure why my comment didn't post. Radar is bound by physics. Bigger radar and bigger engines (power) means better detection and tracking. Faster speeds means better missile performance. The Su-57 can't cheat physics. So no, you can't tell the radar isn't less.
1
Right, they sacrificied their own plane.
1
It wasn't flying in a war zone, and Russia damaged their own fighter in the impact.
1
@rosstrevor8303 Russia damaged their aircraft, and the US is flying drones there again.
1
@honzo1078 Earth isn't flat. The S-400 range is for targets flying up high like airliners. The curvature of the Earth hides aircraft.
1
Source on that claim? If Russia is so confident they could show the radar track.
1
Yes. That's how it works. You think Russia doesn't arm the enemies of America too?
1
The F-16 went into Iraq and Serbia. And Israeli did Operation Opera with F-16s.
1
Russia go home! What are you doing in Canada and the Atlantic?
1
@josephserrano3311 Russia feels privileged to fly their nuclear bombers in Canadian and American airspace. Next time we shoot them down, deal?
1
@DennisMerwood-xk8wp F-35s didn't cost 1.7 trillion, you're spreading fake news.
1
Russian pilots have less hours per year than what is considered the limit to be proficient.
1
@classicgalactica5879 The Phantom scored like 90 kills out if 100 by missile.
1
@sg4250 Why was a Su-35 in Italy?
1
@pogo1140 But that's not true. Phantoms on MIGCAP were trading 3:1 at the start of the war. The 1:1 ratio includes ALL fixed wing aircraft. So obviously the side that was flying bombers and strike aircraft was losing to defensive fighters. Aircraft that couldn't shoot back or were heavily limited in the ability to shoot back sandbagged the ratio.
1
@DennisMerwood-xk8wp Can we see them?
1
S-500 is a nuclear missile intercept system. Not something to shoot down airplanes with.
1
@dieseldog5779 The only anti-aircraft missiles in the S-500 are the same as the missiles on the S-300 and S-400. The only differing tech in the S-500 is the ability to track and shoot anti-ballistic missiles.
1
@DennisMerwood-xk8wp What comes out of your mouth? I agree.
1
@robertholbert3564 Seems like a bet he knew nobody would take. An unauthorized combat maneuver in regulated airspace would revoke the pilot licenses of the men/women involved. Do you think aircraft are like a Fast & Furious movie where anyone can challenge each other for a race and a geek changes the street lights to clear an avenue? Even planned stunts have resulted in crashes that killed the attendance at air shows. You think air combat is something that you can just do and not get in trouble with the law?
1
@stevehartwell1861 Yes he did. The footage cuts with a huge aircraft in view. The drone was in international airspace and had the right to keep the transponder off. Should we sink the Russian ships stealing grain with the transponder off too?
1
@klardfarkus3891 They did. That's why they retreated from Kiev, then Kherson. They started with massive offensives from multiple directions to spending 9 months to take a single town. Sounds like they ran out of supplies to fight like they used to.
1
@rdsox09 Forget the sources. Just name a video here on youtube showing more than 15 Su-57s in the same place at once. If they have 74, surely they have done an "elephant walk" in a runway.
1
@rdsox09 Youtube isn't a source, it's a video hosting website. Anyone can film the aircraft. Where are they?
1
The balloon was in US airspace. The drone was not in Russian airspace.
1
Burning game changers? Like the HIMARS buckbroke your army and forced you to resort to prisoner batallions and meat waves?
1
@jaythomas3224 You can't jam INS. And yes, I heard of HIMARS. In fact, seen it. The videos are unmistakable, the 100,000 tungsten BBs create a cone of destruction that is awe inspiring.
1
But the MiG-31 is the better platform for it.
1
The fact that it's old is precisely why it drains so many resources to keep flying. It hasn't paid for itself, in 2010-2019 the US government paid Boeing 1 billion for new wings, and then signed another 1 billion dollar contract for more. Aircraft do not like to fly past their safe limit.
1
Cope.
1
Fidel Max The footage was released.
1
@RighteousUncle And you realize that there's this thing called "anti-radiation missiles" which lock onto air defenses, right? Of course there's no 1v1s. That's precisely why F-22s win. A flight of Su-57s can get jumped by a superior number of F-22s.
1
They bumped. Feed cuts right as they crash.
1
Because you can't build drones anyone after all your intelligent engineers fled the mobilization 😂
1
@cob5471 Type that again but with proper English this time. Won't change the fact you're literally bragging that the Iranians beat you at engineering.
1
LMAO INSURGENCIES DO NOT HAVE RADARS Against insurgencies the US used A-10s and Apaches, not F-22s.
1
@DennisMerwood-xk8wp then how come Russia can't defeat Soviet technology in Ukraine?
1
They wouldn't be able to afford to stress all their airframes and engines 400 hours per year. Remember, their engines typically have half the service life of a Western made one.
1
By slamming the underside of their aircraft? I could do that drunk.
1
@DavidSmith-wp2zb So Russia damaged an aircraft they needed, to accomplishing absolutely nothing because the US will just send another drone. That's ineffective. If you bang your head against the wall to knock it down, and someone rebuilds it the next day, you gave yourself a concussion for nothing.
1
Outdated MiGs survived the Russian air defense.
1
@DennisMerwood-xk8wp The Russian S-400 operators really got it. And by "it" I mean the 100,000 tungsten BBs from a HIMARS strike. Their bodies must have looked like ground beef.
1
@fifteenbyfive How is it impressive? Crazy Ivan did the classic rookie maneuver of pulling the nose to get away, but misjudging the velocity vector. It's how pilots hit the ground when they don't give themselves sufficient altitude for maneuvers.
1
@fifteenbyfive Precision flying would mean not hitting. Maybe watch some red bull air races. It worked? Russia damaged an aircraft, the US is just sending another drone. Not impressive at all. The pilot had an accident.
1
@fifteenbyfive There was a collision. The last few frames show a high closure rate and a failed last minute attempt to pull the nose away. Classic case of flight path vector not responding to stick input.
1
Maneuverability looks like in videogames and movies, but in real life most pilots get shot down without knowing a missile was coming.
1
@DennisMerwood-xk8wp A flop that has 140 produced per year (there's 14 Su-57s, only 16 built and two crashed). It already flew missions against territory defended by Russian S-400s and Iran by Israel.
1
The real airborne sniper is the MiG-31. That one has the radar, missiles and speed. The Su-57 doesn't.
1
@mikeyplayzwrld Why is it? The MiG-31 has the bigger radar and bigger engines (more electric power) and since it goes faster it can sling the missile further. Russian missiles get better range performance when fired from a MiG-31 than a Su-57.
1
Difficult to reach with MANPADS, perfect launch platform for AGM-88 HARMs which seek the S-300 radar.
1
Please volunteer for the Russian army.
1
Whatever was on the balloon, it was important enough that a satellite couldn't do the same thing those instruments could. This drone is decades old and Russia is using Iranian drones so it's not like their industry is in a good place.
1
Yes. Already happened in Iraq. The F-15s with the improved IFF got the authorization to take a BVR shot without AWACS.
1
They rammed a plane so they spent more than just using a missile.
1
There's no true stealth implementation. These 5th gen aircraft are modifications to the base game made by the community. The actual products you can purchase are aircraft simulations described as "study level". In the sense that you do sit down and learn how to start the aircraft from a cold and dark, how to work the radar, how to employ GPS guided weapons, how to relight the engines in case they flame out in mid air, air to air refueling, etc. EW has a ton of classified information so it's fudged in game, it's driven by the devs guessing the effects of EW based on declassified information. But if you buy a BVR capable aircraft, you can do BVR.
1
They buy Iranian drones because they can't build their own.
