  3. They wouldn't be able to afford to stress all their airframes and engines 400 hours per year. Remember, their engines typically have half the service life of a Western made one.

  5.  @DavidSmith-wp2zb  So Russia damaged an aircraft they needed, to accomplishing absolutely nothing because the US will just send another drone. That's ineffective. If you bang your head against the wall to knock it down, and someone rebuilds it the next day, you gave yourself a concussion for nothing.

  6. Whatever was on the balloon, it was important enough that a satellite couldn't do the same thing those instruments could. This drone is decades old and Russia is using Iranian drones so it's not like their industry is in a good place.
