@xureality The company was willing to license the tech but simply nobody cares. Microsoft invested a lot in the FFB joystick market but at one point even they sorta stopped supporting it through DirectInput. Before MSFS2020 dropped, flight sims were somewhat a niche and trying to sell a plastic joystick with motors that would last as much as a Sidewinder FFB for an affordable price was a losing proposition. And in the world of high end simmers many of the people buying the high dollar sticks are flying spaceships in ED or modern airliners/jets with fly by wire controls.

@xureality But aren't you supposed to source your own motor? Or are full kits available?

@xureality If we're going prosumer there's a company that makes 1200 dollar FFB stick bases. I've seen maybe two posters on DCS forums claim they have one. You need to make a 100-150 dollar product and mass market appeal which means selling to absolute dumbasses, not prosumers. Now it's a whole different ball game.
