@patrickglaser1560 RPGs have a self-destruct fuse that detonates the warhead after travelling around 900 meters. Getting within 900 meters of one of these would be nuts.

Even without the added weight I think it would have crashed anyway due to the downwash hitting the solid wall.

@lunaokittens9574 The helicopter was hovering over the area when it suffered a loss of lift due to the vortex ring state. It grazed a wall while "crashing". He knew the wall was there, he just couldn't do anything about it.

Pentagon Wars is just a comedy movie based on a book written by a nutter who thought he was smarter than everyone else.

@lunaokittens9574 The pilot is not at fault, I actually think that pilots warned that the landing zone would be dangerous because training missions were done with chain link fences but the real mission would have a solid wall. They simply acknowledged the risks and did what was asked from them.

No. Troop carrying wasn't designed into it.

The F-19 was assumed to be the F-117 before public reveal.

@ivanfreely6366 The UK is cutting infantry numbers as well. Doesn't mean much. Either way, they had a 138 "commitment" and have a 48 aircraft order. They'll still probably increase the Lighting II fleet size to load two carriers with them. I expect another order to be placed in the future.

A modified blackhawk. It had to carry half a dozen guys in the back.

He already did a video on the Cheyenne. And no, the Air Force did not throw a fit they simply discovered through studies on CAS that the air mobility supremacists in the Army were starting to push the Air Force out of their mission. Both the USAF and Army Chiefs of Staff had a meeting and the USAF agreed to not get in the way of rotary wing purchases.

But the F-117 was known to exist and there were multiple sightings of "black triangle" aircraft. Despite the coverup (like flying an A-7 squadron to conceal the F-117 flights) people were still aware there was a stealth "fighter" in inventory.

@alastairward2774 Got who? Someone who isn't aware therefore not complaining? The complaint would require awareness of some sort.

I don't see how a rotor can blow ram coating but not supersonic flight in a F-22.
