Meat wave and human wave aren't the same. Human wave is Korean War era stuff. Meat wave are like "waves" in videogames, you clear stage 1 and then stage 2 comes later, and so on and on. You don't play the game to "win", the waves will keep coming, you just play to see how many waves you can last until you lose. If an enemy is feeding "recon teams" knowing that your defensive position will eventually run out of ammo or the soldiers will get fatigued from combat or even lack of sleep, that's a clear intent to wear down the defender.

Meat wave, not human wave.

Yeah and I'm in one of those 53 countries. We maybe sent a few APCs, helmets, vests and whatnot because we're broke. The majority of European nations have signed up to support Ukraine but don't have an army equipped enough to spare gear. The majority of aid comes from major countries like the US, Germany, France, UK, and other determined allies like Poland and the Baltics/Scandinavia. Out of those 53 countries there's maybe 12 doing the heavy lifting and the rest are sending thoughts and prayers. What's hilarious is that the Soviet stockpile was supposed to last until Russia took Lisbon, but Russia burned through it getting within walking distance of Donetsk. That stuff was meant to take on the entire European forces and the American reinforcements arriving through the Atlantic.

@iplaygames8090 The Ukrainians have a huge campaign to tell Russian soldiers to set up their surrender. If you wait until the moment a drone is diving on you, yeah that's too late. Should have scheduled a surrender yesterday with the Ukrainians. You can't surrender to mortar rounds or artillery either. It's understood you should surrender before it falls on your position.

"Russian prisoners that come back often claim the same tortures occur to them" - yeah like that released Russian POW who did an interview with Russian TV and said he was starved. Dude was fat. The Ukrainian POWs traded for his batch came back looking like skeletons. They had actually been starved. The dude gorged down on Ukrainian prison food and went on TV flapping his chubby cheeks saying he had been mistreated.

They don't. They got a few weeks of training, if that, and got clipped before even meeting an Ukrainian. They never got to know anyone on the opposite side.

Who's "we", Ivan?

Dude just laid near a fire lit by the explosion and kind of rolled towards the flames until his uniform caught fire. It even looks accidental but the guy actually picked a spot to lay down and consciously approached the flames.
