  5. Ukrainians are home while Russia is an expeditionary force. It's much harder to keep soldiers fighting abroad as you have to push beyond your borders.

  7. No, it isn't. Due to the interpretation of a coup d'grace being you don't shoot after you move past an enemy, you can do security shoots after people go down. After you clear the area and check on them you can't put them down. People inside enemy lines or no man's land fall in a grey area as they're not under your custody but you have eyeballs on them, something which wasn't easy to have when the Conventions were written.

The entire Crimea/Donbas affair was a spec ops and intelligence operation, they paid people to join protests, people like Girkin and Motorola were RUSSIAN CITIZENS leading so-called separatists. Russia created the problem by attacking Ukraine first. They created the problem by taking down TV towers and broadcasting Russian media full of lies about Ukraine.
