  12.  @dragonstormdipro1013  So? It proves there's ways to go around the rules of thumb. Kharkiv was undermanned. Ukraine attacked it. Ukraine damaged the Antonovsky bridge and Nova Khakovka dam bridge, taking out critical supply routes during the attack on Kherson. Ukraine has taken steps to avoid fighting Russia on equal footing. Just like right now, since the initial rush into defenses failed Ukraine switched to bite and hold tactics which force the Russians to fight in the offensive even though nominally they are on the defensive.

  13.  @thepostmodernvampire  Special pleading. Point is that the art of war is fighting where your enemy is weak. Kharkiv's thin defense ensured Ukraine didn't have to obey the rule of thumb. In Kherson the Russian forces were fighting with reduced supplies.
