Ukraine attacked Kharkiv where the manpower was thin, and Kherson where the bridge damage limited supplies. The assumption that the attacker always takes more casualties assumes that the battlefield was not shaped.

@thepostmodernvampire If rules always apply in warfare, how come the US suffered almost as many accidental deaths as KIAs in combat in Iraq 1991? You said the rules always apply, yet how come they didn't?

Bradleys are loved by Ukrainian crews because they survive the hits, unlike BMP crews. The Patriot had the biggest redemption arc in weaponology by defending itself against an onslaught of hypersonic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.

S-500 is an anti-ballistic system. Not a S-400 upgrade. Would it cost you to read the brochure?

Portugal started with a king fighting his own mother, a Spanish royal. Almost a thousand years later, Portugal still exists. Nobody remembers the mother.

The one where he was lying on a pillow instead of a chair?

@3bSneaky_ You're mixing money and objects that have been paid for. Struggling families can't pay their mortgage with used Abrams.

@3bSneaky_ I'm thinking. No, I don't think the bank accepts Abrams as payment.

@3bSneaky_ The car is your car. The Abrams isn't yours.

@presleymeck White chairs, which had chair shapes. His chair was different and had the soft malleable nature of a pillow.

@dragonstormdipro1013 So? It proves there's ways to go around the rules of thumb. Kharkiv was undermanned. Ukraine attacked it. Ukraine damaged the Antonovsky bridge and Nova Khakovka dam bridge, taking out critical supply routes during the attack on Kherson. Ukraine has taken steps to avoid fighting Russia on equal footing. Just like right now, since the initial rush into defenses failed Ukraine switched to bite and hold tactics which force the Russians to fight in the offensive even though nominally they are on the defensive.

@thepostmodernvampire Special pleading. Point is that the art of war is fighting where your enemy is weak. Kharkiv's thin defense ensured Ukraine didn't have to obey the rule of thumb. In Kherson the Russian forces were fighting with reduced supplies.
