Armenia only moved away from Russia after they failed to protect them. Russia isn't showing anything but their apathy and incompetence. That's what lead Armenia to seek western help.

@Vahagraphy Pre-1930 history? So we give the African colonies back to European powers?

The conflict is being "ignored" because NK is recognized as Azerbaijan. We can't do much about a country taking control of their own land. However, the US has been doing joint training with Armenia proper.

@don2deliver he also went around filming already autopsied corpses propped up to stage fake battle zones in Ukraine back in 2022. Dude "creates" the news, he's not a journalist.
1
Wrong. Armenia cried for Russia to help but was ignored. They're cozy with the west because Russia failed them.
1
Armenia moved towards the West because Russia was humiliated and the CSTO fell apart.

@currawong60911368 The CSTO is a joke.

The situation in Donbass was entirely manufactured. Ukrainian oligarchs used the Ukrainian vs Russian language as a wedge issue for political theater, then Russia used the fake culture war to insert FSB agents. The inorganic "Russian spring" failed in Odessa, Kharkiv, etc and happened to work in Luhansk and Donetsk. But like Igor Girkin said, nobody wanted to fight until he got there and started forming militias.

@profileone5655 No. The conflict in Donbas began when FSB agent Igor Girkin arrived on scene and attempted to astroturf a rebellion. He said it himself - nobody actually wanted to fight. Ukraine was not building an ethno-state. A bunch of protesters had been murdered, Yanukovich signed a deal with the opposition, cops feared they'd be prosecuted for the murders while Yanukovich kept the presidency, so they stepped aside. Yanukovich now feared that without protection, any angry mob or vindictive person could try to take him out. So he fled and the Verkhovna Rada voted to remove him from the presidency. That's when Russia sent in the operatives to stage a fake rebellion. There was no ethnostate, there was nothing. Just a vacant presidency and a date set for new elections. Russia didn't left them. Russia sent both the real army and PMCs like Wagner to fight in Ukraine. This was confirmed by both VKontakte pictures posted by Russian troops and captured Russians who were detained in Ukraine. They didn't "stand their ground". They were about to get slaughtered. Strelkov isn't "cheap". He was involved in so many Russian covert actions his bio reads like a Bond villain henchman. He didn't have locals. He had Russians. Motorola was Russian too.

Ironically Azeris are in good terms with Israel and Armenia is in good terms with Iran. Religion is kind of an afterthought. Azerbaijan has Azeris living in northern Iran and have a desire to seize land from them. Iran has then a common enemy with Armenia.
1
The bottom line is that Russia failed to protect them so they moved West. It was Russia's fault.
1
@mladenmatosevic4591 Nope. Armenia was drawing huge Zs on mountain sides and flying Iranian flags in the streets because they thought they were being backed. Then when Azeris attacked and Russia backed the F off, Armenia moved west.

Russia embarassed itself. Get the timeline right.
