@amorelus there's the additional factor of Russia setting off the separatism in Donbas. If China supports independence movements breaking away from Ukraine, that would make them hypocritical on Xinjiang and Hong Kong.

Sorry, man. It's just preferable to secure peace permanently. Via force. Keep sending that infantry. You're now using donkeys. It's close. The light at the end of the tunnel.

Because it costs lives to keep said land. If you keep the land you give up men and resources. Stopping the fighting ends those costs, so you give up land. If you want to keep it, keep fighting. I guess they'll run out of donkeys too.

Aluminum isn't a rare earth mineral.

"We", mr Al-Saq?

The money paid for safety was returned tenfold in prosperity. Imagine that after WW2 the Americans didn't become the massive industry selling to the entire world to rebuild after the war.

As Preston said, if it doesn't matter why change?

The Treaty of Versailles crap is pop history designed to make the rise of the NASDAP digestible. Versailles was actually extremely forgiving compared to what Germany wanted to impose had it won. Here's the give and take - we gave to Russia and they bit the hand that fed them. Literally, the US sent food aid to Russia in the 1990s. Now it's time to take, with interest.

Attention divided with the fall of Libya, Syrian civil war and the rise of ISIS.

Now imagine you told your friend to bet his life savings on a meme coin and you promised to back him if he lost. Ukraine was told they'd be secure if they gave up their nukes. You took your friend's rent money by pressuring him.

How is it common sense to hand everything on a silver platter? Hope we don't share a foxhole when eventually we all get forced to fight WWIII over this crap. You'll honestly prefer to run towards the Chinese lines.

That's not how it works, though. Russia holding onto terrain requires them to pressure Ukraine with advances to retain initiative. Russia's land grab has a MASSIVE cost. To stop paying that cost they need to give back something.

Russia has not dropped the nukes despite a massive defeat in Kharkiv, having their territory taken or Moscow struck by drones. Why would that be the final solution?

Countries picked sides when America called for Article 5. Countries picked sides when America fought for independence.

Said the man who got help from France to fight the British

That didn't happen. Kosovo was an autonomous administration within Yugoslavia. Serbia couldn't behave. We had to force Milosevic's hand.

@scoth2930 No, it isn't. I'm sorry but Dems handed Trump the win on a silver platter. Biden/Kamala didn't have the balls to grant Ukraine total victory, so all they promised us was more of the same 2021-2024 and that wasn't good enough.

Lmao the winning team? Russia comitted hara kiri with this stunt.

Who's "we", Harib?

Ukraine actually participated in the NATO ISAF contingent in Afghanistan.
