@Jamicaman516 I think it was a reference to Wolf Warrior Diplomacy (named after the action movies). Their diplomats pissed off a lot of countries and the CCP had to tell them to cut it out.

Okay but I had the coof three times and didn't die a single one. The emeegency authorization was also a sham as effectiveness dropped to 52% past like 6 months (source: CNN) and it should be 90% or better to get an EUA.

The US blocked Gripen exports to Colombia. It uses a GE F414 engine.

@damianm-nordhorn116 Waiting line for Rafales is huge. Saab can't make Gripens for themselves, Canada and refurbish old C models to sell to Ukraine at the sane time. Unless Canada pays to build a factory like Brazil did.

@tdring10681 right but everyone knows the MIC from Eisenhower's speech. The MIC at the time was like 25% of the US economy and now it's around 2%. A tenfold decrease. So we essentially eliminated the MIC Eisenhower warned about.

Uhhhh actually it proves they are necessary. The most dense SAM environment in the world right now, nobody flies. Want to play in the air? Stealth is the price of admission. Everyone else lobs cruise missiles and glide bombs from afar then tucks tail and runs.

They have a busy schedule. They have tons of export customers in line.

The Gripen lost the economic calculation in Finland and Switzerland. In Finnish trials it was more expensive to operate than the F-16. And that was the Gripen C, the Gripen E is even more expensive. The Swiss government found the Saab numbers were a lie.

Boy who cried wolf. That's a fair criticism but many were not keen on listening after the Iraq debacle.

That's just the UK and Germany. Also why use facebook anyway?

The orders were not legitimate.

Not true. NATO did not expand into East Germany. That was the deal. Poland? That was Warsaw Pact. Why would we promise Moscow that we wouldn't let Warsaw Pact countries (which they controlled) in? Either way the Poles got Yeltsin drunk and got him to say it was okay to join.

Buddy the defense contractors pay taxes and they employ people. Your pocket is gonna have to cover the shortage, indirectly.

@gagamba9198 the US reaped the benefits for decades. The prosperity the US has is in part owed to its manufacturing being spared during WW2. An isolationist US and an Europe that had to spend money in defense would be less developed today.
