  1. The US snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. After battering the PAVN it forced them to sign for peace and they waited a couple years. Thanks to Muscovite propaganda and Watergate the US was not in position to aid South Vietnam when North Vietnam broke the Paris Accords. This was the worst possible example you could have picked because the Second Indochina War started from a precarious position for the US but the South Vietnamese forces increased their effectiveness while the PAVN started racking up losses. But the USSR had maintained the perception that the US was losing among the US populace.

  3. I just find it hard to believe that when everyone can see the end, generals in charge will throw away their chance to negotiate a cushy retirement. Give the launch order and risk Nuremberg 2.0, or just keep the nukes secure and ring Washington to propose a trade?

  4. If you're going to count aid then Russia isn't alone as they have had aid from Belarus, Iran, North Korea and China to some extent.

  6. The losses in Afghanistan were the cause for no Warsaw Pact intervention in the Polish Solidarity movement. The cost of Chernobyl also had a major part but there's a direct link between Afghanistan and the "tankie" tactic not being used like in Czechoslovakia and Hungary.

  8. They're not "securing a border" they are fighting a war. The US southern border scenario is rough but it is not a war.

  9. South Vietnam lost against North Vietnam. Congratulations to North which fought their own brothers to defeat them in the name of communism, now they have a stock market and McDonald's. The US was out of the war when North Vietnam broke the Paris Accords.

Mexico isn't afraid of US invasion, if anything their military is the only force that can be trusted to fight cartels so they cooperate closely with the US. 3. Ukraine wasn't going to join NATO until it was surrounded by troops in late 2021.

  12. That million is a made up number and if you look it up it's based on face to face surveys rather than body count. The results aren't repeatale.

  14. Not true. There was never any paper and Zelensky and Putin never talked directly. The Ukrainian and Russian delegates were meeting each other for negotiations in Turkey but Russia demanded the Ukrainian army to be disbanded. What do you think a robber wants when he demands you to uninstall the door lock?
