@ffwast Unfortunately this is a "I heard on the internet" story but it looked legitimate at the time, but in the late 2000s I heard of a case in Sweden where a woman who carried pepper spray illegally (required a license I think) actually got a sentence 1-2 months more than a gang member caught with a submachine gun. He argued that as a drug dealer his job put his life in danger. I don't even know how I'd look up that headline in Swedish so take it with a grain of salt.

Luty also published a companion PDF guide on several ways to scavenge the materials for the ammo. He had a way to make 380 Auto and .38 revolver shells.

@VanatruFreyr BS. If you actually look into it, that's false. You probably didn't "get rid of guns", and you probably had a downward trend of gun crime at the same time. This is basic government trickery to keep the dummies thinking they did something.
5
Meanwhile a wacko had a blast at an Ariana Grande concert, literally, but because it wasn't a gun you sit there with a pompous smile even after admitting it didn't stop the guy a few months ago.

Okay. Try to demonstrate good character after getting in a kerfuffle over hate speech online like Dank did. You're here, afraid of people exercising their rights, and trying to project that fear towards others. If you were not afraid, you'd brush it aside. But no. You can't let it go. It's a mind virus that burrowed into your head and now you need to get off your chest that others are the ones afraid. You're the coward. You believe might makes right, and guns make you afraid that people will call bluff on that might by demanding an equal playing field.

3D printing kind of solved the magazine issue. They're not very durable (unless you mod them) but you can built your whole gat out of metal and just treat magazines as consumable items. Bending sheet metal to the correct dimensions is a PITA but printing offloads the precision to a computerized system.

I think around in 2012-2013 South African gun owners were facing an issue where their applications to renew memberships were being delayed by months, and they were genuinely concerned that if the government did not come forward and grant amnesty they'd be technically in violation of the law by letting their paperwork lapse. Lots of talk on internet forums back then regarding the government's complete lack of communication.

@keizser9558 Automatics are banned in the US since 1986 but I get what you mean.

Maybe the criminals and terrorists know something you don't because compared to you, they're succeeding.
1
Luty also had a booklet PDF on ammo on his website. Could probably be outdated due to laws changing but at the time he provided a way to make .380 Auto and .38 revolver shells.

Jet fighters can't stop people in the street and ask for papers. Jet fighters can't stop people from distributing fliers or putting up posters. Jet fighters can't break up secret 2AM meetings. Jet fighters can't arrive in a black car in the middle of the night to bust down your door and send you to a gulag. All a jet fighter can do is level an entire block. Meanwhile Abrams tanks actually were stopped from deploying to Afghanistan after a point because they're useless against an insurgency. Tanks are meant to breach through heavily fortified lines. If you're fighting an enemy that is everywhere, has no lines and no fortifications, the tank is just a flex. Ultimately, to control you the state needs street level operatives made of flesh and bone.

Metal printing has a ton of downsides that can't be dealt with outside of an industrial setting. People are 3d printing CNCs that use EDM and ECM and the tech is improving faster than metal 3d printing. If you 3d print a CNC mill, the forces involved twist and bend the machine so it's a nightmare to get them to cut steel with a fluted rotary cutter. But with ECM or EDM you use electricity to cut and there's no contact, so the CNC isn't stressed by cutting forces.

@baldieman64 That's not due to firearms but the fact that the top ranking murder cities in the US are closer to Mexican or Brazilian cities than the rest of America. Remove those high crime spots from the equation and most of the US does not have outstanding violence in the vast majority of >250,000 metropolitan areas (and there's a ton of them, like 200).
1
@baldieman64 There's been an increase in the past two years in Montana. The rate was 3.20 in 2018.

All governments can kill whomever they want, legalities be damned.
1
There was also an underground Owen SMG factory that was busted in 2004. And in the early 2010s a jeweler was using his skills to make Mac-10 clones for the biker gangs.
1
Yes, the drone strikes that killed an ungodly amount of innocent civilians for every insurgent killed. I'm sure the public will love to see their child killed because a whole block was levelled just to get one guy.
1
@Xiefux They had hundreds of thousands protesting these last few weeks. The issue is that people are "reasonable" and assume showing up and standing up will make a government back down.
1
Yeah, and how is it any better outside the US? Dank got in literal legal trouble over the saluting pug video. Can you conceptualize that?
1
@febinjohn2030 If you look at gun crime rates by year and cover the years you literally cannot tell in the graph when the handgun ban was introduced. Not just that, but handgun crime rose after the handgun ban.
1
He also made them.

Remember the Bundy standoff?
1
@collectedcurios How does it prove your point? People arrived armed from all over the country to keep the government in check. Though there was no policy change the standoff did happen.

Lawyer can't spell "lawyer" right.

One guy posted on reddit that his psych interview for his license in the Netherlands and it was awful. It's a humiliation ritual rather than an actual psych eval.
1
Luty also had a PDF on his website about how to make expedient ammo.

@iprovedthem5527 You're not smiling at tragedy, you're smiling at the feeling of being smart on the internet. At least make sure you understand the critiques being leveled at you.
1
@iprovedthem5527 If you're trying trying to sound smart then why did you twist yourself into a pretzel trying to make that argument work? Nobody accused you of smiling at tragedy, get off the high horse and take the L for temporarily forgetting how to interpret a basic sentence. I engaged with the argument. You admitted that despite the restrictions it still happened a few months ago. The critique made sense. You just don't want it to make sense because you can't be arsed. I don't think you should be. This isn't important.
1
@iprovedthem5527 It's comprehensible, but as usual the Brits have been outpaced by everyone else - even when it comes to their own language. Access to weaponry isn't restricted to people who mean harm. Those who mean harm do not care for words on paper, and law is mere words on paper.
1
No argument, just dismissal. "Libertarian dribble" is what you get when you can't come up with something substantial.
1
"Why would anyone need to run around with guns in today's world unless there are others armed with guns?" - Even if there's no guns around me, I still want guns. Tire irons, baseball bats, knives, etc hurt, kill and maim.
1
@martymatic3575 I don't care about sports. By your own logic, if weapons are so dangerous, why do you justify owning them for sport? If they're that dangerous, why allow them for something as inconsequential as entertainment? It's a massive contradiction. I don't care if knives or baseball bats shouldn't be carried in public, they will be anyway. People who hurt others don't follow the law. It's already illegal to stab or beat people up.
1
@martymatic3575 You were talking about sports shooting, not sports knifing. Okay, bats aren't used in public. Except when people do. Police is always half an hour away when you need them. Plus, what are police if not just armed men? Taser and mace are banned from carry in most countries with gun control, or at least require licensing to carry them because they're still considered weapons. And those licenses aren't handed out like candy. Like it or not, defensive weapons are still weapons. The government sees it that way, and to them it's more important that you don't carry a weapon than having the ability to defend yourself. Come up with a weapon that reliably knocks people out cold without killing them, and I'll get it. I have no interest in lethality, it does me no good if an attacker dies 3 hours later in the surgery if I already sustained damage. Honestly, I trust the deranged friend guy more than the average midwit who thinks having rights and the ability to defend oneself are paranoia. That guy will never cause as much damage as the millions of people walking around thinking that outsourcing all aspects of our lives to governments is the way to go as a species.
1
@martymatic3575 But did he? Or is this just a baseless accusation? A right to own a piece of property isn't the right to end someone's life. That's like saying the right to have a penis is the right to commit sexual assault. Please think twice before posting such nonsense. You live in a free society? Rule of law? Since when? It's been 20 years since 9/11 and that's 20 years of more and more freedoms eroded away after the War on Terror started. Cops get bad training everywhere. You think your cops are trained? You'd be surprised. If the price of going into space is that my phone has to be listened to, my movements tracked, my banking transactions monitored, etc etc etc etc etc, you can keep your space exploration. The juice is not worth the squeeze. The Wild West was safer than you think, it wasn't like in the movies. I've been using my voice. It's people like you who try to shut me up. It's the crabs in the bucket model, the state doesn't even need to silence me, they have millions of people who try to silence others. How would they not accomplish that? The fact that you're trying to discourage it only makes it seem more viable. I'm going to get killed by the army? So having an army willing to kill me already justifies my stance. You'd rather flee? To where? Most developed countries are in lock step with each other. How would you even board a flight? Do you know where you'd get modern forged IDs? You may want to spend the rest of your life on the run. But that's all you'll do. Run. When people in the future ask why things are the way they are, the answer will be because the people who could have stopped it decided to run. They delayed the inevitable for themselves. But one day they got old and died and didn't care to leave a future behind.
1
@martymatic3575 You have no arguments. You just call people deranged. You live in a free society? Okay, start mouthing off some inappropriate opinions and see how that goes. What criticism? You do realize that Dankula was actually in legal trouble over his speech, right? His internet humor video was not criticized, he went to court for it. Why should I have to travel? I am not American.
1
@martymatic3575 Thanks for coming back and admitting I won.
1
@martymatic3575 Insults are just another admission of loss.
1
@martymatic3575 Some people actually work for a living. Sorry I can't be online all day like you.

That's the SAC. It's arguably easy if you do the research. The FAC is harder.

If they go scorched earth, what do they gain? You destroy your own country, now you can't pay or feed your army. What happens to all those people who are now angry at their own masters?
