Low pressure ammo, also microphones can't record gunshots properly unless you have perfect conditions. For example in Heat they used live audio of the gunfire in the city in the movie because the reverb sounded so good. If you record it on an open field you get a very disappointing sound. Foley artists do things like closing sliding doors to get metallic sounds and then layer over the recordings of real guns to add punch.

Virgil Grin "I find it had to believe that someone that’s of below average intelligence successfully reloaded ammo" - that's because most commercial powders are tailor made for specific needs and if you use them wrong, you're pushing past the design parameters of the casing and chamber. If you're loading your ammunition with homemade black powder or crushed match heads, it's very difficult to achieve commercial ammo pressures. In a way, using the proper materials is dangerous because you're seeking high performance, while crude reloading is paradoxically "safer".

High Shaun In the end Weaver won. How do you think that guns can't be used against the government when they literally shot at law enforcement and the courts pretty much agreed they were in the right?

@Bopperann They need to be introduced to the work of the real patriot Philip A. Luty.

They probably expected it to be a replica or unloaded.

@donaldconklin5537 the quote as Diamond Doggo wrote appears on a meme of a drawing of a person's hand giving Skorpion machine pistols to crabs. He was referencing the surreal meme, not the original quote.

@Knightlyfrog firearms used to be completely hand-fitted with no regard for tolerancing. It will blow up if you get it wrong. Just don't get it wrong. Tolerancing comes into play when you're trying to make parts that are interchangeable and you're supposed to finish the parts without even needing to have the host guns to make sure they fit.

@PiousFem6 "if everyone had their own handmade gun people would be dying left and right" - there's more guns than people in America and you're more likely to die from lighting strike than in a mass shooting. I don't think people are dying left and right.

@PiousFem6 clearly you've never been told about the Ring of Fire gun makers. "I had a friend in high school that tried to make a gun and blew off 3 of his fingers" - And there's people who blew their fingers with fireworks. Homemade fireworks is a hobby enjoyed by many and people aren't dying left and right because of it.

@PiousFem6 They're not.

Why should people be protected from themselves? As long as the property is large enough to contain the explosion it doesn't affect anyone else. Also, the state has approved buildings that were literal death traps anyway, so what is even the point?

All of those things are clearly interfering with others. You're using hypothetical future infringements on others' rights to infringe someone's rights in the present.

@AlwaysAC "he preformed a coup de grâce on an unarmed wounded man, even on a battle field that would be a war crime." - it's only a war crime if you lose. The firebombing of German and Japanese cities was clearly criminal. The use of nuclear weapons against civilians was beyond criminal. The laws of war are enforced selectively. Either way, for example using chemical weapons or hollow points in war is a crime. But the police can use tear gas and hollow points against civilians. And there's reasonable reasons why. A coup de grace being a war crime means fuck all when you're not at war.

@MikeDaner2630 mind that the event you're mentioning required the revision of UK fire codes and government buildings (including a hospital) were found to have the same dangerous construction. According to the government, everything was above board. Until people died.

Che Guevara is hailed as a hero by many but he ordered the execution of people for the heinous crime of deserting. He consider war veterans heroes but for example in WWII and Vietnam pilots dropped incendiary bombs on civilians or even things like Agent Orange.

@zaniwoob Literally anyone that climbs into the sky and reflects radar will be detected by the military and even civilian air traffic controllers. Amateur rocket enthusiasts often have to get FAA permissions to make sure no traffic controllers are going to send airplanes into rocketry launch sites.
