Almost all Russian companies do that. Escape from Tarkov is developed by Russians but "headquartered" in London. Gaijin Entertainment also has offices outside Russia and Atomic Heart was developed by Russians with a shell company in Cyprus.

@MetalGearsOfThought Kernel level anti-cheat cannot beat cheats in the arms race. Since data can't be encrypted and decrypted in real time, you can intercept the memory data that reveals enemy positions externally and not have to run cheat software inside your computer.

@hanelyp1 The game needs to do the hit detection client side so that the server can look at the data. The game is not truly synchronized but it's easier to pretend it is by having each client send their game data and the server goes "back in time" to see who's right. The main disadvantage is that you can get killed right after you get behind a wall because the opponent shot you while you were out in the open and the server says you died 150ms earlier so you weren't behind cover at the time. Doing the hit detection server side would feel worse as instead you'd be shooting at people and feeling like you defeated them but the server makes the call and says you didn't.

@brostoevsky22 Russians would use their neural networks against me, Americans would use their neutal networks to defend me. "Buh buh but the double standard" one side would kill me if given the chance. Yes, I want to win in a conflict against Russia after they made it clear I'd be next after Ukraine.

Russian companies "aren't in Russia anymore" because they just relocate offices and create shell companies.
