@HairEEck France went "papers please" over the coof, that's not freedom

@HairEEck No offense, but I don't care about "standard of living" when cops are asking for papers on outdoor tables. I simply can't call that "living" to begin with.

@HairEEck It wasn't justifiable.

@obbyfus Did this video attract a different audience than usual?

@HairEEck First, the science - actual science, not TV science - did not justify such measures. They were pure coercion for the sake of getting people to comply. Second, even if it did, it still wouldn't be justifiable. I genuinely don't get how come people come here and argue for free software and no spying, etc and then advocate for the adoption of a rushed government platform, contact tracing software that was admittedly used for non-pandemic reasons and limiting access to public spaces.

@HairEEck If you're not for contact tracing or tracking apps, then why defend another form of control? At least those apps, which didn't work properly as we expected, had the good intention of seeking the infection as it spread to single out those who were likely to be infected. "Papers, please" is the equivalent of presumption of guilt in a legal system. First of all, I specifically mentioned outdoor seating. You know why? You're not likely to contaminate others in outdoors settings. In many countries outdoor seating were exempt from having to show papers. Second, taking the stuff only suppressed symptoms. You could still spread. By having a green pass that unlocked the key to the city, people actually had the freedom to contaminate others completely unchecked. Third, you are moving the goalposts. This changed from a society based on control and forcing people to participate in a shoddy database system that was rushed (and eventually cracked as shown by the Adolph Hitler health passes people successfully made as a joke) to you wanting a paper about lockdowns, which wasn't the topic. At least admit to being disingenuous.

@halbgefressen9768 No offense, that might work in Germoney, but not everywhere. I've had jobs where people put sick leave and vacations back to back, even though that's not allowed. I've missed college exams because I asked someone to come in early and cover the last 30 min of my shift, and that person came in 30 min late. The concept that people will work harder by just being given more leeway doesn't work where a strong work ethic is part of the culture.
