@yvonnesanders4308 Actors are not supposed to point blanks at each other. They don't wear eye protection for obvious reasons, so they're required to point away from people while firing and camera perspective is used to make it seem like the weapon is being aimed at an actor.

@KT-pv3kl That's not true. The paper plug flies down the barrel like a hotdog down a hallway. Semi-autos need a special barrel with a constriction that delays the pressure release to give the slide the rewards push.

@andrewcarlton6196 Only some specific "MGC" or flash paper blank guns have that feature of blank rounds that look like live hollowpoint ammo. They can and are used in movies but in the US it's totally unnecessary.

@iamperplexed4695 And even if they did, it's fine to use "live" or "hot" to refer to a condition of a weapon. People do use colloquial speech, even in the military.
