  3. As opposed to artillery? Drone pilots have to get within 5-10km of the frontline. Larger caliber artillery can hide further back.

But if you shine an infrared laser (aiming module for night vision that attaches to rifles) into the cable, it lights up for miles and leads back to the operator if seen through night vision tubes. It evades EW but exposes the drone pilot because anyone who can grab the cable can trace back to the drone team.

Unarmed cops with riot shields to deal with angry civilians were sent to the capital just for funsies? Well, they faced Ukrainian National Guard units on the way. And those guys were armed. If Putin sent you in one of those "feints" you'd certainly be angry.

  12. Not true. They are not independent republics, they are a fiction created by FSB agent Igor Girkin. Russia attempted to have multiple revolutions inside Ukraine but only Luhansk and Donetsk panned out. The war had been frozen for 8 years.
