@worldgoneawry8906 No. I'm using analogies. Professional soldiers with experience can perform better under pressure. A random mugger who never had anyone resist? He might actually enter in fight or flight. And even if he is committed to a fight, the motor skills under stress are pretty bad without training. Even if the mugger is experienced in fighting and thus doesn't stress out, just being exposed to an unknown martial art (like wrestling, Judo or BJJ) can throw people off balance. This mugger isn't going to break a skull. You'd need the equivalent of an experienced professional soldier. The soldier is using a gun, rocket/missile launcher, mortar, etc. this isn't about soldiers getting hand-to-hand training.
"Like in the UFC when a guy is all tangled and the other guy lifts him up and then slams into the ground" - It takes some skill to do that, because you have to resist the submission. It might not be apparent, but the person doing the slam is actively trying to break the lock.
"You seem to think BJJ is God." - It isn't, most people just don't know any counters to it. A good boxer can starch any untrained fighter, but everyone knows what fists can do. With BJJ, you can have things done to you that you never thought were possible. Such as the slam thing, if you're untrained you can easily just force the BJJ practitioner to leg go and grab the legs instead.
