@frozzytango9927 Fertile land by itself produces stuff that isn't tasty. Even fruits were developed by human hand by mixing different individual plants, and today we plant offspring of the plants we liked. You ever saw a fully natural banana? They're loaded with black seeds. Way harder to eat.

@suckieduckie One thing I've learned over the years is that people underestimate how easy it is to be humble in victory. When you're on top of the world, it's incredibly easy to be the "top guy". Want to test someone? Make them lose. People gracious in victory many times end up sore losers. Mandela got what he wanted, all eyes were on him, why throw it all away and ruin his reputation? Have an alternative universe where he loses, Apartheid is still in effect, but his sentence is commuted for whatever reason. And nobody cares who is he. He'd go right back to helping the militant faction of the ANC.
