@Bayonet1809 And they unblinded the trials after 6 months. There will never be long term testing.

The real test with Europe will be corporations. I suspect many states will not go as far as France, but companies may be pressured into forcing employees to take it.

The essential oils crowd. Funny, years ago I wouldn't have predicted to stand side by side with them.

@1000yearswordling That is a reason, just not a good one. It's an appeal to popularity, which is a logical fallacy.

@1000yearswordling That's circular logic. Something being democratic doesn't automatically make it a good thing, plenty of things we consider bad today were supported democratically in the past. Either way, something being popular doesn't automatically shield it. It would be like a celebrity getting away with crime simply because most of a population loves that person. No, sorry. That celebrity needs to face the consequences no matter how many are disappointed.

@1000yearswordling I'm not American. Nobody talked about invasion. If you had a good argument you wouldn't need this level of reaching. Also, regarding of your comment on the civil war - it started because the Southern states wanted to leave the Union. The Southern states wanted slavery, then civil war happens to keep them in the union by force. It wasn't civil war happens, then Southern states want slavery. So don't try to cop out.

@1000yearswordling "who's going to overthrow the government if the population is fine with the way things are" - You really should look into history rather than the condensed version given in middle school or 45 minute documentaries + 15 minutes of ads. In a lot of revolutions only a small fraction cared enough to fight while most couldn't be bothered to fight for either side. Case in point, do you think all American colonists rose up against the British? No. In fact there were loyalists who were on Britain's side, and people who fought for the revolution because they were getting paid for it. When you have people who will give up everything to make a change, and people who will not give up anything, you have a side that's willing to fight and a side that's not willing to resist. They'll just keep on living no matter who wins. And the Taliban. There's 32 million people in Afghanistan. According to Biden there's 75k Taliban fighters. That's less than one percent of the population. "it's probably better to limit people's freedom to own slaves" - That's not the point. The point is that democracy can still be wrong and an insurrection justified. You used the excuse that there was a war so democracy was out of the window, but the slavery issue existed BEFORE the war.

@nolife1199 This is true for any system.

@Iceaxe0410 The problem is that they're pressuring everyone to take it. They don't want a control group. If there's long term effects, you won't have a baseline among the population to compare to.

I'd rather die full of bullet holes looking at the Afghan mountains than live in a Papers, Please hellhole. I'll live a day like a lion, you'll spend the rest of your life as a worm mooching off a government. Like a pet eating from the master's hand.

@anthonybrett You're the coward. You're the one begging for violence to be used against me. But you won't come to my house to enforce your rules. You need to beg to men stronger than you to come and deal with me. Men who have access to budgets that go from the millions to billions every year. You call others keyboard warriors but you're the one typing at the keyboard, wishing for violence. Others want to step outside the lounge room, you beg to stay in it.
