Nordic countries give tons of benefits to parents. The demographic decline is still not solved. I'm against mass immigration. But it's sort of demoralizing to see that the options are either a country full of retirees or immigrants because whenever the issue is mentioned the majority of people who oppose immigration go "we need more gibs, then we'll have children". That's being part of the problem, not the solution.

@Theranthrope Have you ever wondered why they remain remote tribes instead of exploring the world? Raising a child on zero dollars is "free" because it consumes everything else you could accomplish. The problem here is that everyone wants birth rates to increase, but nobody wants to be a remote tribe. So children cost money. Because we invented currency. Which allows us to have penicillin, lightbulbs and airliners.
