  1.  kamrudkd  "The fixed amount of gold that exists will simply go up in price, and a gram of gold can be any price." - Then what's the point of the standard? If a unit of a currency is worth a gram of gold one day and half of a gram the next, what's the difference in just abstracting the whole thing and removing the standard? It's not actually based on anything anyway.

  3. It's a nice schizo theory, but humans are too good at creating wealth. A gold standard would lead to massive deflation, so Khadaffi would be another "based r-word" who'd crash several African nations with his cryptobro tier understanding of economics. Yeah I said it, the gold standard people are the 1970-2000s version of cryptobros. You can't base a currency on gold and expect it to keep up with modern economic output.
