  13. Satellite pictures show Russia's fire superiority is used to pockmark empty fields. Russian, and Soviet, artillery doctrine is built around the use of fire superiority to make up for lack of accuracy and proper target designation. So mass is used in place of accuracy, as the sheer density of fire suppresses and destroys the target. But it's not the Cold War anymore. We don't have millions of men in the frontline. We have half a dozen dudes manning a trench and they either dig in the bunker or abandon their position. Firing thousands of shells at a treeline does nothing if the soldiers just left the position and return after the barrage is over.   16. They're Russian speakers because of Soviet policy of locking job opportunities and education behind the Russian language. Which is why Russian as a first language is concentrated in the industrial zones and big cities while the countryside of South and East Ukraine are an even split between Russian and Ukrainian as first language.

He owned his own production company and thus profited from other TV shows and soap operas. Many of which were syndicated and shown in Russia. Don't shy away from stating Zelensky is a billionaire. Because he made his money being the owner of his own production company. And he was extremely popular in Ukraine and even in Russia (there's an old clip of a Russian new year's eve gala where you can see Zelensky is on stage). You know how Taylor Swift owns her own masters? She re-recorded and re-released her first six albums so that she could hold control over the songs rather than the old record label she was signed under. That's Zelensky's "big crime". Owning his own stuff so that he didn't have to hand over all the profits to someone else.
