@twolessba1087 It's not a dogwhistle. You people see a buzzword and start immediately misusing it. A dogwhistle is something that will skate by unnoticed by most people except those in the know. Like whistles meant for dogs use a frequency that is heard by dogs but not humans. This is just an off color joke delivered through subtext. Subtext is MEANT to be understood by the audience. The offensive joke: the West are the reincarnation of the Nahtzees. The subtext: rather than directly calling the West evil, it uses the WELL KNOWN connection between fashion brand Hugo Boss and Nahtzees.

@AlexKarasev Ukraine wasn't the frontier of Russia. It was the frontier of Europe. Beyond Ukraine you had bad mofos in the Caucasus, the steppes, there were pirates, etc. so you don't go East beyond those lands. That's why it was labelled Ukraina in maps before Russia existed.

But didn't the courts side with the troops? You take a laundry list of shots when you deploy to countries where diseases we have erradicated exist. But in part we have erradicated them because we had decades of well developed shots which blocked transmission. The stuff was experimental, so the discharges could be reversed. At least last time I checked, I haven't kept up with the legal challenges.

@Tentacl People throw around the term "media literacy" waaay too often these days, but it does bother me you're the only person who correctly interpreted what the guy was saying.
5
@jameshenderson4876 Not a weird reference. He's calling the USMC "Nazis" through subtext. Freaking Russell Brand made that joke at a fashion show once.

@willmannn "move on and get a life" says person who had nuclear rage about this issue back in 2021 lul You people were the ones who wouldn't want to just move on and let go. Still waiting for that winter of d3ath and darkness or whatever the Pres said in that speech. Ominus stuff, really.

@captainbean3114 How is it a dog whistle? Virtually everyone knows about the Hugo Boss thing. Russell Brand (ironically) made that Hugo Boss joke in a fashion event a decade ago.

If you have no thermometers with Fahrenheit you have to use the Celsius readout. No matter how uncomfortable you are with Celsius, if you're asked the temperature and you're holding a thermometer with a °C readout, you're answering in °C instead of trying to convert it to °F in your head. If the road signs are in km he's not going to use miles either. It's not about comfort, he literally doesn't have the information about miles.

@mosh.4245 Weren't the guys who disobeyed reinstated because of a technicality?
3
@ajkulac9895 I remember when it was Trump's jab and people were refusing it because Warp Speed was Trump's program.
3
Yes if he had no thermometer with a Fahrenheit readout. Would an AZ native read road signs in Europe in km or miles?
2
I doubt they have thermometers in Fahrenheit over there. I remember when mercury ones sometimes had dual scales but now everything's using a digital readout.
2
My brother and mother had like a year of heart palpitations after taking it. It wasn't serious but messing with someone's heart like that is BS.
2
Should have gone to Ukraine. Natural distrust of government resulted in 50% jab rates while most countries had 80-90%.

You do realize that it was stated, clear as day, no ifs or buts, from the very start that it didn't prevent transmission, right? Initially the mask mandates would be dropped for those who had taken it but it was reversed in about a week. If you had become infected you'd still have transmitted it and infected your relatives. It was an "egotistical shot", it only protected YOU and YOU ALONE. This was reiterated multiple times in 2021.

Do Americans have a built in Fahrenheit sensor in their skin? If your thermometers and weather reports are all in Celsius, you WILL use Celsius. You have no choice unless you're acoustic to the point of whipping out your smartphone's calculator app every time to do the conversion.
1
Those work, though.
1
One who doesn't have access to a thermometer or weather reports in °F. If all the readouts say Celsius you use Celsius. If all road signs say kilometers instead of miles you use kilometers. You have no choice unless you do every single conversion on your head. The number in Celsius could be utterly meaningless to him. But he doesn't have the number in Fahrenheit so he can't use that unit.

@battleburger Not only did nearly every government representative discourage it (it's even technically illegal) the definition of mercenary requires him to be paid more than a regular soldier. Russia does offer lucrative mercenary contracts to foreigners. In Ukraine, foreigners sign a contract with the Ukrainian military and are treated as Ukrainians earning the same pay. Much like France has a foreign legion which is NOT a mercenary force.

Trump said to take it. It was a good vaccine, the best vaccine.
1
Yeah but you can't be forced to take an experimental one, that's messed up considering all the Cold War era testing the military did on troops. And I don't know a single soul who had Cominarty or whatever was the "truly approved" one called.
1
The fact that there's no Fahrenheit readouts anywhere. You're forced to drive a car with a tachometer in km/h. You're asked the speed. Will you answer in mph or just read what the thing says? 37°C could be utterly meaningless to him. He thought it was hot, and he read 37 in the readout or weather report. Since he had no number in °F he had to use Celsius. Even though he doesn't understand it beyond "it was hot".
1
You expected thermometers to have a °F readout in Eastern Europe? He's forced to get temperature in Celsius so he has to use Celsius. If he's driving a car over there and ask him the speed on the tachometer, he's gonna use km/h instead of mph, and when he's filling the tank he'll use liters instead of galons. Simply because he has no choice.
1
@randy804 Case in point lol
1
If all the road signs around you are in km will you use miles? If all the thermometers are in °C you use °C. You literally have no choice unless you use some kind of mnemonic to do the conversion in your head.

Some doctor in Boston in the late 1700s did a better job than modern labs and billions in funding lol
1
He can't find a thermometer with a °F readout in Ukraine, genius. Stop overthinking things. He saw the trmp in Celsius so he said Celsius. Most people can't do the proper conversion in their head.
