@ufofanclub You tell an AI "get 1000 points" and give it 5 points whenever it does something right. It's just doing what you tell it to, instead of you having to approve every attempt it just checks the score it's earning. AI doesn't actually understand, it just responds. For example there was a story of an AI tasked with making an efficient plan to guide a roomba vacuum cleaner. And score was deducted whenever it hit the walls or furniture. The AI eventually started going backwards because the crash sensors are at the front and by hitting walls tail first it did not lose score. The AI doesn't think about what you want or the rewards. It's just chasing score.

The US dollar is a greater ponzi scheme than this, by that logic

Peter Koperdan from what I got incompetent services have stored passwords as text files which means that if the service is hacked, the file is found so game over. What others do is only store the hashes, they run your inputs and check if the resulting hash is equal. So if you hack the service you only get hashes not passwords and you can't work backwards. But if you have the dictionaries+rules or lists of passwords stolen from other places you can run those attempts, and when hashes are equal you know you have found a password. So the problem isn't hackers caring about you, it just could happen that by sheer bad luck you become a point of entry due to your password being found in the service's hashes.

francis weir you have to realize that the price hike prevents shortages, while a price ceiling would allow miners to purchase even greater quantities of cards. Ironically, a less free market would shaft gamers by making mining even more profitable.
