@Zephyrs009 most gun violence is comitted with handguns, not assault weapons. Also, the same reduction happened in other countries. It's more likely that the 90s crime reduction was due to economic factors and the removal of lead from products.

@fake12396 In Brazil? Most come from Brazil's own arms industry. In Mexico most can't be traced back as they lack the serials that are federally required in the US.

@Jannik68392 With p-hacking you can get that result easily. Gun violence was decreasing in Australia since the late 1960s-early 1970s.

Buybacks are feel good policies. Only people who want to get rid of guns would take up the offer, which means grannies selling the late husband's guns for a fraction of what they'd be worth on auction.

What drives me crazy is that you don't see how this will be used against you. Surveillance was sold to us as a way to prevent terror, turns out it was mass unwarranted wiretapping.
