@Tony P Actually, people did say that. Your new script is just the moving of the goalposts. At first it was herd immunity. Now it's to "teach". Even though 80% of people don't need to be taught because they didn't get sick.

@jimmyhirr5773 Yeah, so job done. That was the objective. Crisis averted. Case rate was always supposed to go up, but enough people would be healthy that the system wouldn't collapse. That's what flattening the curve means. Keeping cases controlled as people get sick. Then we all get sick, but not at the same time. If cases go down, even better. Oh? You actually wanted to eradicate the thing? That's moving the goalposts. That's not flattening the curve. That's ERASING the curve.
