@spirit1803 Many news agencies shut down their comments sections under news. I mean you wouldn't expect the most intelligent commentary under something as divisive as politics, but there's a precedent. Not really a conspiracy. I doubt it would happen because the comments are so ingrained in the youtube experience but it wouldn't be unheard of.

@Meeces55 Many countries still have subpar identity systems where you'd easily fake their ID, and even in the case of digital ID you'd be able to pay off someone to get you an ID of a recently deceased person. I understand the concerns but at the same time we had to come up with ways to anonymously post so that dissidents and whistleblowers could get the message out in authoritarian countries, now we'll throw it all away and tie our online activity to our real ID...
