He wasn't getting the truth out, he was trying to impress kids. Jesus...

@KasperYakolev-j1h How is it a cope? You're attributing courage to a man trying to impress minors online?

@KasperYakolev-j1h It didn't take balls because he never expected to get caught. It's not courage, it's stupidity.

The conclusion isn't justified by the premise. Why couldn't Bellingcat just post the article just the same even if the leaks are real?

The documents literally state Russians suffered 43k KIA and Ukrainians 17k KIA. Are you out of your damn mind? Do you undestand the number 1 is smaller than the number 4? Because you seem confused.

@0Leonx0 Are you a literal child? Intent matters. If you try to steal money from a bank, but in your escape you drop the money in front of an orphanage, you're not a charitable person. You're saying "so if the money ended up in an orphanage, doesn't that mean the robber was a good person?" - no, because the intent was to steal from himself. Exposing the truth means you're telling the truth because the truth matters. Publishing documents to show off to friends without caring about what they say isn't telling the truth. Because you never intended to people to know about it. You wanted it to be a secret among friends.

But Bellingcat literally uses open source evidence, aka stuff that doesn't require any foreign agencies. They use social media posts, photos, videos, metadata and satellite pictures anyone can get. The only "spicy" information they've used were lists of Russian government documents that they bought on the dark web, because such data bases are hacked all the time.

@nic12897 Bruh TRILLIONS were spent in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ukraine is cheap compared to those.

@nic12897 KIA number estimates allow your enemy to take conclusions about current force strength. Why would you let your enemy know when you are weakened?

@KasperYakolev-j1h Russia lost in Afghanistan.
