  1. They wouldn't really adapt to the A-10, there's simply no trick up the A-10s sleeves. It has to put itself in the line of fire and it will take losses. It's a very straightforward weapon unlike something like a HIMARS which is very elusive.

  2. Yes. That's how it works. Until an airframe is scheduled for retirement, it will still be used. As far as I know, it's around 40-something A-10 airfames on the chopping block.

  3. Not really. They weren't going to get retired all at once, only around 40 was the USAF request.
