  4. What do you mean poke the bear? Sweden will be in NATO. Russia doesn't attack NATO members, that's the whole allure of the membership.

  5. Ukraine already fought the war the Gripen was made for. The lines have mostly stabilized, they don't want guerilla war, they want to push forward and drive the Russians out. That's an offensive fight, which requires significant overmatch.

  7. Ukrainians started the F-16 pipeline in mid 2022. It's 2024 and the F-16s are still not there. It will be long.

  8. In the real world, several countries which held trials did not think the Gripen beat everyone. Saab's brochures paint a pretty picture, but in real life they always come up short.
