Former Soviet countries and China use metric in aviation, but in the West aviation comes from the naval community (due to the need for navigators, transoceanic flight was the biggest feat for pioneers). While the UK uses metric, UK aviators still learn naval units.

  4. That, but unironically. The US spends 600-700 billion a year to fight Russia amd China every year. For 200 billion Ukraine broke the Russian army. They're bringing out the T-55s out of storage and using North Korean ammo. They're done. They did the job for a fraction of the price. Best return on investment on any government project you could have had.

  8.  @dimon5891  So if Russian aviation can't handle 3 Patriot batteries, what happens when there's F-16s hunting them? Usually when there's more sources of danger, the cumulative effect is stronger because now pilots get task overloaded from managing the different threats.
