We assumed they shared some of our values but it turns out they act like all the other autocratic states: there's not enough training and inter branch cooperation to prevent competent troops staging a coup, there's an entire branch separate of the army with internal troops that answer to the head of state rather than military officers, there's three rival intelligence agencies, almost everyone in a position that matters was picked on the basis of loyalty rather than competence and everyone is encouraged to engage in corruption.

  3. ​ @AA-or4dt  There's video of a wreckage with a massive landing gear sticking out of the grass. Maybe it was damaged and it returned home but the landing gear was the right size for a IL-76. Also why did you change the goalposts? All you do is bring up different subjects to distract from this loss. What do you earn from it?

  4. HARM ranges are against ground targets. Flying bodies trade altitude for speed so a target on the ground requires less energy to hit. To hit an airborne target at long range a missile has to fly upwards while it has rocket thrust so it can coast in thinner air and then slightly dive on the target.

  8. They didn't say that. An old man fired into the air when he saw a Russian jet. That same jet was shot down by a SAM. The armed forces appreciated what the old man did and gave him an award for bravery and assisting the armed forces, not the shootdown. It was GARBAGE media like Daily Mail that picked the photo of the man receiving the award and said he had shot down the jet. One of the things that pisses the off the most is people who believe lies then calling others liars. You try to shame others as untrustworthy but you are the one who can't be trusted. You made a genuine mistake, okay. Let this be a lesson.

Several milbloggers were threatened by the Russian government and one in particular, Igor Girkin, was arrested and put in the same cell as Ukrainian PoWs. Igor "Strelkov" Girkin was involved in Transnistria, Serbia, Chechnya and the 2014 covert invasion of Ukraine. He is a die-hard Russian who fought for Russia across decades and he's criticized the Russian MoD.
