  2.  @jimkerslake  Old school doesn't work. I don't remember exactly the reason why, I think the risks outweighed the benefits. I'm not having it both ways. I am personally enjoying the fact that catching up to the variants is a constantly moving goalpost and thus futile.

  4.  @peterwright5311  Then explain why the CDC issued a recommendation in the January 20th to reduce the cycle threshold to minimize false positives? PCR is an ubiquitous biotechnology tool because it allows you you replicate genetic material without resorting to cloning, which is slow and expensive. Doesn't mean it's infallible. There have been cases where entire batches of PCR tests where the positives had to be redone because the lab screwed up and contaminated the samples.
