@frostyguy1989 The reactor handled the geological violence just fine. Even the flooding would have been prevented with a higher sea wall.

@whoisheiforgothisname2103 Chernobyl used the RBMK-1000 which was a design finalized in 1968, the Unit 1 of Fukushima-Daichi was a GE BWR-3 with a Mk I containment, which is a 1965 reactor design with one of the earliest containment structures. The Unit 2, 3 and 4 were BWR-4 which is a 1966 design, still with Mk I containment.
