@angelsjoker8190 bro this story has been retold a billion times, the Pride purchase was a complete scam. Pride collapsed due to the journalism exposes and the company was gutted. After the purchase the UFC realized they had only purchased the event footage, empty offices and a few contracts. They got the rights to Pride but the Japanese told them that if they tried to revive the brand they'd keep writing more exposes to bury the brand for good. What was the purchase for? Dana asked himself the same.

I won't judge for piracy but bro saying you watch the illegal streams for fighters' rights is like saying you shoplift to increase minimum wage.

@eddyray-yb6ig Boxers at the pro level often have brand deals. They don't fight in the gloves they like but the ones they were paid to wear. Sometimes they train in gloves of a different brand because the deal is fights only. Some have to cover up brand with tape during training because they have exclusivity deals and can't rep competing brands even in training.

Okay, but do Sumo guys use Muay Thai techniques? In Muay Thai you open your hand and stick it on the opponent's face. Which is safe with boxing gloves. If you slide your hand through the guard to do a Thai guard manipulation, elbow or head grab for a clinch knee while wearing MMA gloves you do not have the padding you're used to in sparring.

Did Pride own the rights? If you buy a Shrek DVD that doesn't give you the right to the song All Star by Smash Mouth.

Obviously the person doing it is the main culprit but boxing is different. After grabbing hair and wrestling was banned from early bareknuckle there were almost no reasons to ever open your hand. In MMA the Thai inspired techniques of long guard and entries for elbows and knees involve opening your hand so that a boxing glove can slide into the opponent's guard and stuff his face, grab the arms and yank to rip the guard, grab the head and pull down, slide forward and crash with the forearm/elbow, etc. These techniques are eye safe when sparring with boxing gloves.
