"So he identified Sacha Baron Cohen and STILL wasn't aware it was a prank??" --- Did you watch the same video? He noticed it was a prank when he recognized the guy from Borat. Cohen immediately left the premises. There was no prank as soon as he was identified. "is your friend Sweidan?" --- Really? Kindergarter insults? Calling people "friends"? "Your premise that Cohen (ahem) stopped being "newsworthy" at some unspecified point in the last few years" --- Wrong. My premise is that a failed prank isn't newsworthy until the successful ones are released. "But if your argument is that makes SBC some kind of anonymous D-lister" --- It literally isnt'. "then why does he have to HIDE HIS IDENTITY?" --- Not my argument but I'll bite. Cohen has a house in Los Angeles if I'm not mistaken, American residence would entitle him to gun rights. It wouldn't make the gunshop look bad to sell a gun to a legitimate American resident who just happens to be British-born. "Congratulations on (so succinctly!) explaining what a publicity sport is. :D :D" --- Don't you mean STUNT? There's no results for "publicity sport", nobody uses that expression.

  3. Wow, a spelling mistake. Good job. Apply for Gearbox Software they opened a position for checking typos. "did Sweidan and company think it was at all odd, that Mr. Beard had a crew with him?" --- the store owner was told they were filming a documentary. Camera crews are not uncommon sight during documentary shoots. "If they were indeed in the dark as to identity, whom did they think just tried to punk them, Stuttering John?" --- they weren't aware it was a prank, he only identified Cohen by the voice. Cohen left in embarrassment and that's how he knew he was correct in his guess. "you yourself just implied this is nothing but a publicity sport" --- I don't know what a "publicity sport" is but without a Cohen show or movie him getting outed would not be relevant. Now that Cohen has a show out, and several people made themselves look like fools, the store owner came out with his story to point out how easy it is to not get punked by Cohen. Not to mention, it wouldn't be newsworthy. Who the hell would run that piece? Now that it has been confirmed Cohen was pranking gun people his story becomes newsworthy.
