@Mike_Dubayou My condolences for your notifications for the next few days. Godspeed, king.

@CarlosAM1 Kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy when a certain type of research was being carried out in the US, got banned, got moved to a certain city in another country, and then that city becomes the source of the crisis.... The people predicting that something ended up causing that something.

@bnice1374 The AGRA program financed by the Bill and Melinda foundation actually worsened the focus countries involved, reduced crop diversity and production. Donating money doesn't mean much when that money goes to restrict freedom in poor countries and to lobby in favor of the companies producing fertilizers and seeds.

With a half life of 30 days, after 7 months only 0.78125% of the radioactive isotopes will remain. After a hundred years, we're talking about a percentage level of 0.5 to the power of 120. That's nothing.

He already made a video explaining that to attract the most audience he tests several titles and thumbnails. Most people will not notice, I only did because I added to my watch later the first time it was recommended, and saw it on the sidebar with a different title.

It wasn't x-ray film.

But the counterpoint is that it would be easier for hostile nations to get hold of that information.

Noise is generated when you amplify a signal. You could filter it out, but that would attenuate the image going into your eyes. The noise is worth it to get the most light amplification.

@CarlosAM1 I haven't heard of any research that untangled the mess that was the bat/pangolin origin and traced the animals that spread it. We've managed to trace back the origins last time this happened. Maybe because the animals were caged and were disposed of when they realized the oopsie? Instead of being in the wild. Also the location had been warned that there was a leak danger in the years before. Hmmmm.

That's why they set a 100 mile radius for safety. They didn't know the effects of fallout in the long term because the weapons had not existed for long enough to study it.
1
That's the point...? The film gets ruined instantly when exposed. There's no long lasting effects to observe, the film is already stained.
1
@Reth_Hard What did I not understand? OP stated that the film doesn't live to see long-term effects... yes, but it is RUINED instantly. The long term doesn't matter, it's ruined short term.

Did he say that before or after he had produce destroyed to artificially keep food prices high during the great depression?

At the time they voted Democrat.

You're right, no nuclear testing was ever done in the Soviet Union.

@MrHat. Science has been manipulated by governments and corporations time and time again. Someone's gotta write the checks to pay for the science and it's either the government or the private sector.
1
@MrHat. Yeah, good thing you ALWAYS read where the funding comes from. You do, don't you? Universities get grants from government and private funding for research too. Rule number one of business, never use your own money when some other sucker can pay for it. Between paying for teaching staff, administrative staff and the college sports racket you think there's enough tuition money to finance science?

@Pronto MUH RUSSIA
1
@Pronto Okay now you're defending NATO intervention in the Balkans, which today most consider to have been a mistake, done under false pretenses, caused more harm than good and just another example of American imperialism, World Police and perpetual war.

Did you post this comment twice or was it someone else? The Atomic Plague was acute radiation poisoning. They created the 100 mile radius for test sites believing it wouldn't happen. And it didn't. Cancer and mutations from fallout isn't the same as acute radiation poisoning.
1
@zaphodsbluecar9518 They were aware of Acute Radiation Poisoning. That's why they set a 100 mile radius.
