Carbon is life but I'm not sticking my face in exhaust fumes. Please don't make us look bad with those kinds of statements, that are easily dunked on by any midwit.

It isn't. There's a natural nuclear reactor and the waste has been there for almost 2 billion years.

Try saying to the people living in countries we'll stage coups in to get access to their mineral resources that renewables are all sunshine and roses. Everyone will be affected by something. 1.2 million people die per year from traffic accidents (or at least they did in the mid 2010s when I checked) and we still agree motor vehicles are nice to have.

Funny because major scientific breakthroughs came from going against the current. Heat was thought to be an invisible fluid. Light in space was thought to move in the ether.

@davidsimpson7373 Just to Red Team you a little bit, mind that any function can have local linearization. This means that although you have an overall logarithmic function, if you look at a small enough delta it will be approximated by a linear function. Just pointing out that there's a way to justify the "runaway" model.

@davidsimpson7373 Again, this is a mathematical concept. Functions can be locally linearized. Your limit when approaching infinity tends towards the asymptote, but we're not dealing with infinity. We're going from x1 to x2 which means on the Y axis we go from y(x1) to y(x2). And on the "runaway" model we can end up at y(xn). It wouldn't be catastrophic world ending, turning into Venus kind of deal, but still uncomfortable. This is why I don't like the logarithmic argument.
