  4.  @hhiippiittyy  In what world is that a good argument? Yes, it's not charity. It's trade. It happens between states. If subsidies stop, food prices increase as a response. Essentially if we ignore maybe third order effects, eliminating the subsidies just means food prices increase so states that import food pay more for it, while states that export food get paid more. On paper there's no difference except you pay for the food at full price from the grocery store rather than partially through taxes.

  5. America is still better? Depends on location. A lot of places in the US are significantly worse than many other countries.
