  11.  @iwantsalmon6846  The video itself explains that while the phenomenon is not exclusive to China, other countries are high income. China isn't. It's the middle income trap. China had to clear the hurdle before time was up. If you don't, you hit the bar. You can either stay a developing power and use your low income to keep growing your economy. Or you become a high income country. China is not low income enough, nor high income enough. It doesn't matter that the phenomenon is global. We still have the economy to delay the major effects.
