  2.  @oisnowy5368  To stop they need defensible positions. If they have no way to dig in like built up areas or trenches, and the manpower to hold a second line of defense, they get clapped the moment they stop.

  4. Russia was hiding their manpower shortages with "ghost BTGs". Instead of 600-700 people they had ~40 people and artillery observers. With shelling they could stop Ukrainian probing attacks so it was impossible to determine where the weak defenses were. Somehow Ukraine found out, and thanks to the shortage of shells and drones, the attack either killed, captured or scared the artillery observers. This created a deadzone of several miles through which the AFU could push without artillery barrages. And then the defenses were so weak everyone on the Russian realized they'd be massacred so they dropped their weapons and ran.
