  1. Moderators accelarate the fission. Control rods stop it. In the Chernobyl RBMK design the water acted as coolant and helped control the reaction which leads to positive void coefficient as the water boils. The Zaporizhzhia NPP uses water as moderator so boiling causes the reaction to slow down with the negative void coefficient.

  2. It was Russian Major-General Valeriy Vasilyev who threatened to blow it up. They're the ones holing up in a nuclear power plant and using it as a bargaining chip.

  3. Stop spreading propaganda. The Russians are using the NPP as a shield and Ukraine is trying to hit the military positions around the plant. They're not shooting at the reactors.
